The KAENA POINT FIRECRACKER is coming up! This is one of the HURT Trail Races. It will be held on SATURDAY: JULY 1st, 2023 - start time being 7:00 am.   The course is 9.5 miles along Kaena Point, so while there are beautiful and motivational views to take in along the run, this race can be a hot one! Prepare yourself by stopping into ULOHA to pick up some electrolytes (salt/Nuun tablets, Skratch hydration powder, and more!).   ULOHA will also be hosting an aid station along the course. ULOHA's June Spotlight Organization: Ko'olau Mountains Watershed Partnership works hard to spread awareness on the invasive Albizia Tree.   While the tree has been in Hawai'i for over 100 years, it is currently one of the most problematic invasives that we deal with today. A photograph of these trees is below (they are quite common in the Manoa area). If you DO recognize an Albizia and want it removed, KMWP recommends that you find a local arborist who is specialized to adequately perform this removal. By getting educated, YOU can get involved to better our watersheds, environment, and aina.
