How is ULOHA celebrating EARTH DAY?!
This coming Saturday, April 22nd is EARTH DAY. ULOHA is excited to participate in Onizuka Day of Exploration (from 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM) at University of Hawaii - West Oahu (in Kapolei). This will be a STEM event, with so many exciting opportunities to participate in discovery, learning, and MORE. Stop by ULOHA’s booth to learn about the essentials of wilderness travel, walter filtration systems, and how to properly fit a hiking backpack. See you on EARTH DAY!
Celebrate VOLUNTEER WEEK
This week is NATIONAL VOLUNTEER week! At Uloha, we are passionate about giving back to the community and aina, so we’re very enthusiastic to participate. On Monday we worked at Ala Mahamoe Cultural Garden with the Sierra Club, weeding and watering native plants. Tomorrow, on Wednesday, we will work with 808CleanUps to restore Nimitz Beach- click HERE to learn more + participate. Friday is our big EARTH DAY event, in which we will be planting native trees along Kuliouou Ridge Trail- click HERE to learn more + participate.
Aloha Tree Alliance IN ACTION
Aloha Tree Alliance is ULOHA’s April Spotlight! ATA set up a wonderful display at the front table of ULOHA. It features native Wili Wili seeds you can touch/feel, information on how YOU can HELP RESTORE KULIOUOU RIDGE TRAIL, and MORE! Come on down to ULOHA to check it out!
Race Day Is Coming Up!
April 16th will be the HAPALUA: Hawaii’s largest half marathon! Stop by ULOHA to pick up a running vest, fueling/hydration needs (GU’s, Honey Stringers, Nuun tablets, Clif Bloks, etc.) Or stop by our booth at the Hapalua’s Expo at the Convention Center on April 14th and April 15th. Best of luck to all participants - we look forward to seeing you out there Sunday morning!
