Let’s Save ‘OHI’A
One of the DLNR’s main focuses is to prevent Rapid ‘Ohi’a Death (R.O.D.). The endemic ‘Ohi’a tree is quite significant in Hawai’i- being the most abundant native tree on the islands, it plays a major role in the ecosystem(s) here. “Rapid ‘Ohi’a Death” is a fungus that has been rapidly spreading among the trees, already having killed off over one million.
